Elizabeth Wells, LCSW
Clinical Social Worker, Community Advocate
Welcome
Hi, I'm Liz. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, serving the Fredericksburg and surrounding area. I have spent my career working with individuals seeking recovery from Substance Use Disorder and Co-Occurring Disorders before transitioning into my role in Community Mental Health at the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board, serving residents of Planning District 16. I continue to provide clinical services in my role as a Mental Health Intensive Case Manager & Hospital Liaison at the Community Services Board.
I graduated Cum Laude as an undergraduate from Salisbury University, when obtaining my Bachelors of Social Work, and with a 3.84 GPA from my Masters of Social Work program at Salisbury University. I also have training in the treatment of Substance Use Disorders.
In addition to my academic achievements, I served as a SOAR (Student Orientation Advisement and Resource) ambassador during my time as an undergraduate, served in various service positions within the Chemical Dependency Students Association, I am a Member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and awarded Distinguished Member in 2014 for my service to the Alpha Nu Omicrom Chapter, Member of Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society, and I was awarded a distinguished paid field placement with Veterans Affairs, among other areas of note during academic career.
As I began my professional career, I became a member of the National Association of Social Workers, was awarded Employee of the Quarter in 2018, became a certified pre-screener for the Commonwealth of Virginia, obtained my clinical license while working diligently to help community members transition from state hospitals back into the community, and prevent re hospitalization by providing service within a strengths based framework utilizing Motivational Interviewing interventions.
I continue to contribute to the community, having previously served as facilitator for Mental Health America of Fredericksburg's Survivors of Suicide Support Group. I enjoy spending much of my time enjoying all the natural beauty to be found in Fredericksburg and the Northern Neck in my kayak, on my bike, or from hiking trails with my husband and our three daughters.
